There are different definitions of sustainable prosperity because it is influenced by a person's point of view, reason, and context of use of the term. One common definition is the managing of the environment and resources for future generations. The goal of this definition is to balance environmental, economic, and social factors.
Benjamin William Mkapa (below) was the first to say that the definition of prosperity can mean different things to people in developed countries.
Connections
Sustainability prosperity on the global level is connected strongly to the global economic prosperity and the idea of free trade among all countries. Many believe that prosperity will be sustainable after the world is integrated economically.
Peter Ellyard (below) says that sustainable prosperity will be achieved only when it egoes beyond economics and trade to include all the needs of society and the environment.

Environmental Goals and Sustainable Prosperity Act
Nova Soctia's government in March of 2007, proposed to legislation the Environmental Goals and Sustainable Prosperity Act. This act states that the “health of the economy, the health of the environment and the health of the people of the Province are interconnected.” This act was proposed to try and reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, garbage or waste production, and to encourage the use of electricity form renewable sources.
United Nations
The UN uses the term sustainable development instead of sustainable prosperity because according to the World Commission on Environment and Development, development is sustainable when it meets the needs of the present without compromising
the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
