The World Bank is an institution with an aim to reduce global poverty and increase living standards. Many of their goals are linked to the Millenium Development Goals. The World Bank uses these goals as guidelines.

The IBRD’s focuses on middle income and creditworthy countries while the IDA’s main focus is poorer countries. Both of these departments work together to complete the following goals:

2) This video explains how the World Bank started a program to encourage and increase girls getting an education. In Turkey, a program is in place that has increased female enrolment. The World Bank is paying parents to send and keep their daughters in school.
